IN LIFE, THERE’S DEATH by Wokoma Ihekerenma | Poetry | PAROUSIA Magazine

				IN LIFE, THERE’S DEATH
(DEDICATED TO ALL THOSE WHO HAVE DIED IN THE FAITH OF CHRIST)

In life, we encounter many seasons
The good times are like weddings, births, and promotions.
The challenging and painful times, like sickness,
Stagnation, persecution and death.

One second we are happy, filled with joy,
Next, we are sad, filled with sorrow and wondering
Why the future seems so dark
And our hope is hopeless.

But then our Father who hath in heaven,
And looks mercifully on us, His children say,
In life, you will have tribulations, but be of good cheer,
For I have overcome the world.

How can I be of good cheer,
When the ones I love are gone?
When my heart is empty?
When my courage disappeared?
And my lamentations seem endless?

But alas, hallowed by thine name
For He makes everything good in due season
The void is filled with sweet-smelling roses
The strength and courage like that of an eagle
And a renewed hope with love.

Wow! The pain is gone,
The joy I feel is so overwhelming,
The praises I hear are soothing to my soul,
Beckoning me,
And the peace is forever.
Praise be to God.
