We are pleased to release the long awaited memoir by Tiajuana L. Tillman “From Iron to Ivory.”
The author is an African-American female of Blackfoot Indian descent. She was born and raised in Washington, D.C., and travels the world as a cultured Professor. She has a Masters in English Literature from Howard University; an MBA from Trinity Washington University; and is earning her Doctorate degree at Morgan State University. She is a Morrison Scholar, a Law Reform Advocate, and a Human Rights Activist.
Written backwards in time and led by breadcrumbs –with a unique play on words –this narrative of overcoming the murder of a young mother, child abuse, rape, homelessness, and an unjust conviction, is an inspiration to anyone that’s faced adversity and thought life had definitely come to an end.
From Iron to Ivory
“There’s nothing more powerful than being AUTHENTIC.” -Leon Miller, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
“Tillman’s memoir is a true gem. It is inspirational, deep and soulful and comes straight from the heart. At times, it hits you right in the gut because the human experiences are so real, and the cruelty of people knows no bounds. Other times, the book makes you realize that hope is still very much alive and that we can work to change our destiny. Tillman writes with great lyricism and style, and you cannot help but be moved by her words.”
Christopher A. Shinn, Ph.D. Howard University
