This thing called ME
Many things are the lovelies of ME
Oh I can begin the count of them all
Yet they are just lusts of ME
Many things are the pleasures of ME
Oh the satisfaction ME gets
Yet they really don’t satisfy
Many things are the desires of ME
Oh how deep the longing can be
Yet they only bring disadvantages
ME, has a love using the eyes
Yet it’s just lust of the eyes
That desecrates the mind
ME, enjoys fleshly pleasure
Yet it’s just lust of the flesh
That desecrates God’s temple
ME, happy at men’s accolades
Yet it’s just the pride of life
That crashes one’s life
As a man lifts himself high
So here’s a solution to ME
Found in the writer’s plea
While he sang the hymn
Consecrate ME now to thine service Lord
By the power of grace divine
This is my cry to Him that is high
As He ends ME from me
And places Christ in me
The hope of glory
