Three Poems from Shane Simmons

.

A Walk With God

This morning I took a walk and in the
distance I could see

There was a shade of a man. He said
don't cry, just come to me.

He gently took my hand and walked me
through the storm.

He said, My child, you are free, today you
are reborn.

Lord, you're always with me. You teach me
wrong from right.

He told me, Never fear, my child, I am the Light.

A Journey That Has Begun

The Lord had taken my hand,
As He wiped away each tear.
He whispered to my heart,
"I'm the one to hold you near."

As we were walking side by side,
With each other hand in hand,
My Journey has just begun,
With just my footprints in the sand.

I asked Him to forever hold me
And teach me wrong from right.
He didn't speak no words.
I knew He is the Light.

I knew to read His Word.
And promised Him indeed.
Lord, You fill my cup,
As You planted a precious seed.

An Inner Peace

God is always with us,
Even when we ate in despair.
He'll always hold your hand
And let you know He's there.

The devil will do what it takes
To make every storm come true.
It's then within your heart
As the blood does carry through.

There are hymns that we all sing
To glorify His Name.
Always we must remember
Satan will try and play his games.

When we are all out in the world,
Praise His Name on high.
The Lord is always with us.
He will never say goodbye.
